During the night of 17 November to 18 November 2025, there will be an important change to the login process for Microsoft365 services (M365) such as Teams, OneNote Online and OneDrive.

Until now, users have logged in with their personal email address in the format "vorname.nachname@uni-hamburg.de" and their own password.

As part of the changeover, login will be linked directly to your user ID (e.g. bxy1234).
This means that
After the changeover, you will log in using the format "benutzerkennung@uni-hamburg.de" (e.g. bxy1234@uni-hamburg.de). You will then be redirected to the usual UHH login with 2FA.

Anyone who was already able to log in with "benutzerkennung@uni-hamburg.de" at the time of the changeover will not be affected by the changeover, with the exception of the change regarding redirection to the usual UHH login with 2FA.

In addition, continued use of the M365 services requires acknowledgement of the terms of use as part of the UHH login process.

For the majority of UHH students, the changeover will not take place until the beginning of December, and we will provide separate information about this.
