Emergency Maintenance: Critical security vulnerability in Microsoft

Due to recently disclosed security vulnerabilities in the Microsoft environment, critical ‘emergency updates/patches’ are being rolled out on servers administered by the RRZ in a timely manner. These may force a system restart, which will result in brief service interruptions. The restarts are scheduled for Friday morning, 11.04.2025. All other Windows systems connected to the central update management will also download these updates and force a restart of the device.

End devices of the type ‘FMD’ administered by the RRZ are not directly affected by this and FMD users will be informed separately in advance of any forced device restarts.
