Two-factor authentication (2FA)

Universities are also targets of hacker attacks - with the result that entire universities are paralyzed for weeks. At the University of Hamburg, cyber attacks have so far been unsuccessful. We want to keep it that way!

However, secure passwords alone are not enough: To significantly increase the protection of your devices and data, the University of Hamburg is introducing two-factor authentication, or 2FA for short. After its successful implementation for staff, 2FA will also extend to students from mid-August.

Recommendation: Register at least two devices so that you are more flexible in using 2FA.
