Requesting University Subdomains

Subdomains under uni-hamburg.de can be requested in conjunction with an application for a website using the university’s central WCMS or an application for a web application on a web application server. For more information, please visit the web pages for the RRZ’s WWW services.

To request your own subdomain under uni-hamburg.de WITHOUT applying for a website or a web application, please use the following form (the request can only be submitted by permanent UHH employees from the UHH network (VPN may be required):

To set up a server name (subdomain), approval is required from the relevant IT manager at the institution and Department 2 of the President’s Office. Further information: www.fiona.uni-hamburg.de/beantragung/regelungen.html#domainvergabe

Requesting domains outside the uni-hamburg.de domain

To apply for a domain outside the “uni-hamburg.de” namespace, please use the following form in the Self Service Portal (the application can only be submitted by permanent UHH employees after logging in with a B-ID from the UHH network (VPN may be required):
