The problem has been resolved by Microsoft releasing the relevant updates. If the updates have not been installed automatically on your system and the problem persists, you can force the update. In Excel, click on:
"File" -> "Account" -> "Office Updates/Update Options" -> "Update now". You may then need to restart the device, or doing so may help.

Following a Microsoft update, errors are currently occurring when attempting to copy and paste content.
Microsoft added the error to its update description on 10 September and is still investigating the cause. Excel 2016, 2019, 2021 and 2024 are affected.

As a temporary workaround, you can paste the contents of the copied cell by right-clicking and selecting ‘Paste Values’
Microsoft is treating this widespread error as a high-priority incident and is continuing to work on a solution. As soon as the manufacturer has provided a permanent fix, we will inform you immediately.
