Request for a MySQL (MariaDB)/PostgreSQL database
To obtain a database in the RRZ’s MariaDB/PostgreSQL database system, you must be a member of the university staff and have a valid user ID.
If you need the database along with new web space for a web application, you can request the database together with the web application. If this is not the case, please fill out the form below.
On the form, please provide your contact information and the contact information of a person who will provide technical support for the database (even if that person is yourself). Additionally, enter the desired name of the database and a password of your choice. Further information on naming the database and the characters allowed in passwords can be found on the application form. Please also indicate which university department you work for.
Once we receive your application, we will set up the database and notify you of the access details via email.
Each database is assigned a validity period (usually until the end of the following year). About one month before the validity period expires, database owners are notified via email and informed of the option to renew.
