Installation Sophos Intercept X (university-owned Linux devices)
You can obtain the installation sources for installing Sophos Intercept X on university-owned devices from your IT managers.
On Linux, the installation package of Sophos Intercept X can remove the old Sophos Endpoint Protection software.
To install, please proceed as follows:
- Get the Sophos Intercept X installation package and place it on your local hard drive.
- Open the Terminal program. Confirm every of the following commands with the press of the return-key.
- Change to the download directory via cd Downloads
- Make the installation package executable with chmod +x SophosSetupRRZ.sh
- Install Sophos as an administrator by entering sudo ./SophosSetupRRZ.sh the administration password is asked for after that. It is not displayed when entered.
When Sophos Endpoint Protection is still installed, append the parameter --uninstall-sav to remove it. - The setup is running now, the files are being copied to /opt/sophos-spl/.
Now, you can start the scan of the hard disk with this command:
sudo /usr/local/bin/avscanner /
The configuration of Sophos is handled centrally in the Sophos management portal.
