Installation on Windows

The ISP client is installed in the following steps

  • Downloading the ISP client
  • Installing the ISP client
  • Configuring the ISP client

Downloading the ISP Client

Here you will find the ISP client (TSM) versions recommended by the RRZ. Select the download link for your system from the table.

Users who use a VM provided by the RRZ can proceed directly with the configuration from the separate instructions in the backup node application, as the packages in the recommended version are already pre-installed.

Installation of the ISP Client

  1. If this is not an initial installation but an upgrade, stop all TSM services (TSM CAD and Scheduler)!
  2. Run the downloaded installation file for the ISP client. This will unpack the installation files.
  3. Run the spinstall.exe file from the installation directory as an administrator or with administrator rights. If necessary, confirm the Windows security dialog for changing the computer settings with Yes.
  4. If this is an upgrade, make sure that the “Client Web Server” component is uninstalled.

Configuration of the ISP Client

For an initial installation, follow the steps in the instructions that were sent to you when you requested the new backup node. For an upgrade, simply start the ISP services that were previously shut down.
