Windows 10 - Manual Configuration
This guide describes how to manually configure Wi-Fi access to the UHH eduroam network on Windows 10 or later using native Windows components.
Manual configuration of the eduroam Wi-Fi connection on Windows 10 involves numerous settings windows; therefore, for clarity, a summary of the necessary configuration steps follows without illustrations.

Establishing the Connection
- Left-click the network icon to display the list of available networks
- Select the “eduroam” entry and click “Connect”
- The message “Network requirements are being checked” disappears after a short time and
- the ‘eduroam’ Wi-Fi network is displayed as “Connected, secure”
- In the future, the laptop will automatically connect to the eduroam Wi-Fi network as soon as it is within range with the Wi-Fi interface enabled
Change or correct the configuration
Once a configuration has been created, it cannot be changed or corrected. If, for example, the password was entered incorrectly, Windows 10 will not establish a connection to the eduroam Wi-Fi network. In this case, you will not be given another opportunity to enter a new password. The same problem occurs if a password change was made via the RRZ portal. In these cases, the existing configuration must be completely deleted and then recreated. To do this, please proceed as follows:
- Open the Windows Command Prompt: Type “cmd.exe” into the Windows search bar and press Enter
- Delete the configuration using the command “netsh wlan delete profile eduroam” and confirm by pressing Enter
- Reconfigure the eduroam Wi-Fi access as described in Section 1. Configuration of the Wi-Fi Interface
