3. Authenticate Windows device with 2FA (instruction)
Goal: You have prepared and registered your device and now want to perform two-factor authentication (2FA).

Starting point:
- You have prepared your Windows device for two-factor authentication and registered it with the 2FA app (whether it is an FMD device or SMD device does not matter here).
- You are using Windows 10 or a higher version.
- You are using a standard browser (Firefox, Chrome, Edge, etc.).

If, for example, you want to log into the protected area of the KUS-portal, first enter your B-identifier and password as usual.

Then you will be redirected to a page where you select the "Log in with this device" option and click "Continue".

You will now receive a security prompt from the system, in which you, depending on the selected setting:
- enter your WindowsHello PIN,
- present your fingerprint or
- perform a facial recognition.
If the system confirms the correct data, the login to your IT service takes place and you can continue as usual.
