For Employees

The RRZ provides the following email services for employees of the University of Hamburg and the State and University Library.

Exchange-based Email Mailbox Service

Upon signing their contract, each employee automatically receives their personal user ID (B-ID) login details from the Human Resources Department of the Presidential Administration. An Exchange email account with an email address of the type givenname.lastname@uni-hamburg.de is automatically set up for the user ID. The email account remains valid for the entire duration of the employment contract.

Some authorized users, e.g., project staff, external service providers, etc., cannot yet be automatically provided with IDs. In these cases, a separate application is still required.

Outlook on Web provides users with a web-based email program that allows them to conveniently manage their emails from any computer with internet access.
