Email Addresses
When you apply for a user ID or one is automatically generated when you sign a contract as an employee of the University of Hamburg, a personal email address in the format givenname.lastname@uni-hamburg.de is also automatically set up.
Employees must first notify the responsible personnel administrator of any name changes (e.g., after marriage). Once the process is complete, change your name in the user administration and contact the RRZ Service Line so that an additional email address with your new name can be added to your existing mailbox.
Please notify the RRZ Service Line directly of any further change requests.
If you would like to set up an email address that is linked to a specific function – for example, businessroom.abc@uni-hamburg.de – a group mailbox is the right choice for you.
