UHHCloud Service Terms of Use

Section 1 Scope
(1) These terms of use apply to the use of UHHCloud at the University of Hamburg.
(2) Unless otherwise provided, the Regional Computing Center Regulations for Use as amended also apply.
Section 2 Scope of Use
(1) UHHCloud is available for use by anyone with a valid uni username, to store data for work or study purposes only. Use for any other purpose is not permitted
(2) Students are granted 100 gigabytes of storage each.
(3) All other University of Hamburg members have a standard 5 terabytes of storage. If necessary, this amount can be increased. The amount of storage being used may be reported to the relevant manager.
(4) UHHCloud provides users with a collection of documents with instructions, FAQ, and responses. Users can also send a request for support to the RRZ ServiceLine(rrz-serviceline"AT"uni-hamburg.de). The RRZ provides additional support during their usual business hours.
(5) External third parties may be granted guest access for UHHCloud. Guest access can be established by sharing files and folders. Guess access provides only limited use of UHHCloud.
(6) The RRZ reserves the right to change the amount of storage available and the range of functions provided by UHHCloud for operational reasons.
Section 3 Storage periods
(1) Data stored on UHHCloud is available to users until they are deleted or the use is terminated (see Section 4).
(2) Data stored in Deleted Files will be permanently erased from UHH Cloud after 180 days. Users can completely clear the Recycle Bin at any time. After deletion from the Recycle Bin, data can no longer be restored.
Section 4 Termination of use / data retention
(1) You may terminate your use of UHHCloud at any time, without providing any reason, simply by sending an email to the RRZ ServiceLine. All data, including shared data, will be deleted automatically on termination.
(2) UHHCloud cannot be used once the uni username has been blocked due to withdrawal from studies or the end of employment. Data will be deleted as soon as the uni username has been deleted.
(3) Data stored in UHHCloud may be made accessible to management where required for operational purposes where the owner of that data is not available (e.g., has left the University, parental leave, long-term sick leave).
(4) The University of Hamburg may exclude users from using UHHCloud without notice on good grounds. Good grounds include, in particular, repeated violations of these terms of use, of the Regional Computing Center Regulations for Use, or of other applicable laws.
