Installation & Use

In this section, we have compiled information on how to use your M365 account. The focus here is on the programs in the Office Suite.

Please note the special information on using Outlook together with the UHH Exchange system:

Using Outlook and an Exchange mailbox

Attention! - The use of Microsoft's “New Outlook for Windows 10/11” is currently not permitted, as it synchronizes access data and emails with the Microsoft cloud. Users are not informed that passwords are also stored in the cloud. Therefore, please use Outlook from the Office package (2019 versions).

FMDs

FMDs (Fully Managed Devices, devices administered by the RRZ) already have an Office version preinstalled.

 

SMDs and private devices

This summary applies to SMDs (Self Managed Devices, obtained via the RRZ) or private devices:

To “activate” an app or the Office Suite, you must log in with your M365 account.

Office Suite download via M365 website

If you need the Office programs for your desktop or mobile device,
you can activate them 5 times on PCs and 5 times on mobile devices.

  1. Log in with your UHH M365 account at  https://m365.cloud.microsoft/apps/ .
  2. If it is not visible, open the menu on the left-hand side.
  3. Go to “Apps.”
  4. Use the “Install apps” button.
  5. You can select various options from the drop-down menu.
  6. Microsoft will redirect you to the appropriate installation packages.

App stores

For Windows computers or Macs

For Android or iOS

Search for Office 365 in the store and install it.
There is a Microsoft guide - Downloading Office apps for Android from Google Play.
To activate, simply log in to one of the apps or the control app with your UHH M365 account.

 

 

AddIns, AddOns and Apps

The use of add-ins, add-ons, and apps is restricted.
Please note our scope of services and limitations
